The easy fix to that, add a photo to the Texas voter registration card, similar to the way a provisional drivers license has a picture. Voter registration cards are free and with the photo ID there is no excuse not to require a photo ID, since it would be free to everyone.

That way you assuage the concerns that a photo idea or cost prohibitive or some sort of burden and you also eradicate the fear of voter fraud. I’m not naive enough to think either extreme would accept this offer, but it’s a rational fix.

Student IDs are not registered to the state. Gun registration licenses are registered to the state and also require a background check. This comparison doesn’t make sense.
