This is a frame job. Disney deliberately released some Fox turkeys so it could have cover to quickly liquidate Fox employees aquired in the purchase. No way Disney is surprised Dark Phoenix failed. They would have been screwed if it succeeded.

Nah some of those fox people would have been fired regardless. Disney doesn't need a manufacture a scenario & set up a way to fire. They literally said 18 months ago they were going to fire at least a couple thousand people. They also had no choice but to release dark Phoenix

This is the gamble when a studio takes risks making original films instead of properties the odds are stacked against them and dating becomes key apart from Bohemian Rhapsody and Deadpool most of Fox films over the last 2 years were poorly dated

It was in Disney's interest Fox delayed Alita and Dark Phoenix had they opened last December and February would have performed much better

That's essentially what fox was anyway. A company for properties. As long as they are original & some are R rated does it matter so much? A property can mean a mid budget comedy. Of course fox had some oscar stuff too & maybe they will still continue that
