One of the candidates last night at the #MidPenForum said that we couldn’t control who got guns and that this was a mental health issue.
I absolutely believe we can do much more to stop gun violence. We need to start treating guns like the weapons of war they are. #VA01

Sir I disagree. She said the NRA didn’t put the gun in his hands. It’s reported the NRA gave his school a $10k grant for their rifle team. She says we can’t control who has guns. We control access to alcohol and drugs. She uses the same GOP talking points about mental health
Edwin Santana must feel threatened by me because he's misrepresenting my position to others. On mental health issues, Edwin Santana should come sit down and talk with me and my husband and our autistic daughter and then tell me how I should think about the mental health system.

Mental health was not the question. The question was about gun violence. Your response about addressing mental health is not the solution, unless you’re a Republican. We have to change gun laws now.

Yet it turns out that the shooter had a mental illness. Have you seen the video of what she said? She said we need better mental health services and we need common sense gun regulations. And she is a Democrat and proud of it. I am no longer looking at Santana as a choice.
