Right now, we are watching as more and more locales are removing monuments across Virginia. These are symbols of intimidation and oppression. But the physical monuments do not remove the psychological depth of slavery and racial inequalities still oppressing our society.

The true change does not stop there. It needs to address the inequalities in employment. People must have equal hiring and salary options. Without progress, is struggle. But that's not enough.

We need to have well-funded schools. How are we supposed to elevate our under-performing schools if we aren't keeping them up-to-date with technology, faculty and facilities? Without progress, is struggle.

We must have equal opportunities in housing. We are functionally pushing people to where we want them and this extends to every aspect of their lives including school options and services. Without progress, is struggle.

Send me to Washington and I will demand these changes. I will introduce legislation that will fundamentally change ways of life, liberty and justice for the better. Take out oppression to remove struggle. Taking down statues is easy. Fixing real inequality is hard.
