The disease spread rapidly throughout the USS Theodore Roosevelt, where nearly 700 crew members tested positive. Captain Brett Crozier should have been with his crew to help guide them in this trying time.
Through it all, Rob Wittman did nothing. He never commended Captain Brett Crozier on over 25 years worth of fighting for his country. He never expressed gratitude for protecting his crew by highlighting the severity of the issue. He never even said "Thank you for your service".
This is not patriotism. This is cowardice. I thank Captain Brett Crozier for all he has done for the United States and for all he will continue to do once he is reinstated.
Until then, it is my duty to call out those who stood by as this man's career was nearly destroyed. His reputation tarnished and his service questioned, he deserved far better than that.
My name is Vangie Williams and I'm running for Congress because we deserve someone who honors our military heroes. After all, it doesn't matter if you thank them for their service if you don't honor them for their sacrifice.
