His plan targeted the middle class. This suspended payroll taxes for 160M Americans, expanded opportunities for low- income citizens, extended unemployment benefits for 6M workers, invested in infrastructure projects, and modernized public schools.

Today, Congress is voting on a massive $2T stimulus package of $500 billion which goes to corporations while only $100 billion goes to hospitals. Obama’s high-speed rail system would have given 80% of Americans access. This would’ve created thousands of private-sector jobs.

We need to lay a new foundation for our economy now more than ever. I urge Congress to recall the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2008. We need a stimulus that puts people over profit.
