Today the House passed H.R. 1, the “For the People Act of 2019.” This legislation is designed to expand voting rights, limit partisan gerrymandering, strengthen ethics rules, and limit the influence of “dark money” in politics. (1/8)

Not surprisingly, Congressman Rob Wittman voted against it. For 12 years now, Congressman Wittman has relied on corporate PAC money to keep his seat in Congress. He’s taken millions of dollars from the defense, banking and insurance industries. (3/8)

He has time to hold fundraisers and talk to lobbyists and take their PAC checks, yet he can’t even find time to hold open, in-person town halls in the district and talk to his own constituents face-to-face. (4/8)

Rob Wittman isn’t fighting for the people of the 1st District because he’s too busy looking out for the corporations who pay to keep him in Congress. Maybe that’s why he’s only managed to pass five pieces of legislation in 12 years – one of the worst records in Congress. (5/8)
