Ralph Northam Must Resign The racist and offensive yearbook picture that surfaced yesterday makes it impossible for Ralph Northam to continue as the governor of our great commonwealth. I say this with great sadness in my heart as I consider Ralph Northam to be a friend of mine.
While his record as State Senator, Lieutenant Governor and Governor have been exemplary, this picture evokes a not-too-distant memory of suffering from our past. It’s blatantly racist and offensive nature has cast a moral shadow on our governor from which he cannot emerge.
Therefore, I add my voice to the growing chorus and call on Governor Ralph Northam to resign. There is no doubt that among those calling for his resignation are some who do so not out of moral outrage, but of political convenience. Among those is Congressman Rob Wittman.
How can Rob Wittman on one hand call for the governor’s resignation in moral outrage while on the other have endorsed Corey Stewart for Senate in 2018?
Stewart, who publicly associates with the racists and white nationalists responsible for the Charlottesville riots, received Wittman’s full support. To denounce Ralph Northam while having supported Corey Stewart makes Rob Wittman a hypocrite and political opportunist.
You can be certain that the hypocrisy of Congressman Wittman’s condemnation isn’t lost on me, nor is it lost on the people of the 1st District. We deserve better.
Agreed, but he should have been asked to resign for his views on killing children.
The pictures were taken almost 30 years ago. People change... Dems let loose a monster with the Kavanaugh hearings that won’t be able to easily go back on.
This guy is probably a dirt bag, but to go down this road of persecuting people for things said and done DECADES ago, is just wrong! The PC culture was non-existent in the early 80’s. Attitudes change, people change, as the world around them changes.
