NEW: GM is cutting off striking workers' health care coverage effective today. The UAW will now pick up the bill for their members' continued healthcare through COBRA. This development shows just how costly this strike will be to both sides.

Here is the official statement from GM: “We understand strikes are difficult and disruptive to families. While on strike, hourly employees will be eligible for COBRA so their health care benefits can continue."

It's actually showing how worthless health insurance is. With M4A, going on strike, being down-sized, closing plants, etc. wouldn't affect worker healthcare at all.

Also shows how Medicare for All would strengthen unions' hands in strikes.

But Joe Biden told me it would be bad for unions...?

Medicare for all is actually Rep John Conyer’s idea. Back in 2003 he introduced the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act, a bill that would create a single payer health care system. Bernie is standing on the shoulders of those that came before him.

This is how GM repays the taxpayers who bailed them out?
