    Use character and plot, too, to foreshadow, and don’t forget to use the *reader.* Rely on readers to speculate and make assumptions, says. Use patterns in dialogue to signal to readers that a situation that’s unfolding may be like another you’ve presented prior.

    YES! Granted I like collecting Public Domain pieces and redesigning them, so digital scans of older books I have some interesting pieces. As for on my bookshelf... I think it might be this 1931 Military book:
