The Air Force decided New Year's Eve would be a good time to drop solicitations outlining requirements it wants for next-generation airlift, tanker and mobility mission generation. The quick-turn RFIs show autonomy, data sharing and survivability is key:
A programming note: I’m on vacation in Austria for the next two weeks and will be pretty much unplugging.
The next time you see me tweeting I’ll have some personal news ™️ to share…
Hi friends I need help for a weird playlist. I want “Party at the End of the World” songs.
I’m talking “Die Young” by Ke$ha, “Dance Macabre” by Ghost, “1999” by Prince.
Bangers only, no gloomy music.
TRUE ANGEL IN BUFFALO A THREAD: A local woman received a call on Christmas Eve, “Hi, you don't know me but I have your brother.” The woman’s brother’s name is Joey. He is 64 years old and mentally disabled.
Yes I’m rewatching Love Actually after taking a break from it for a couple years and…this movie hates women so much, why did I like this so much as a teen?!?!?
If Rudolph's dad has one million haters, then I'm one of them.
If Rudolph's dad has one hater, then I'm THAT ONE.
If Rudoph's dad has no haters, that means I'm dead.
Zelensky, tonight: "I assure you Ukrainian soldiers can perfectly operate American planes and tanks themselves."
Ukraine's requests from the Biden administration for U.S.-made Bradley Fighting Vehicles and F-16s have gone unheard so far.
Also, on a much less serious note, that C-40 crew probably has a fantastic story to tell during this holiday season. The Air Force crews on those executive airlift planes are always amazing and I can only imagine how stoked they were to do this mission.
Obviously I'm just a humble journalist but imo, having this information be publicly accessible makes it much more difficult for Russia to fabricate some sort of reason to target the aircraft.
This is why the OSINT/spotter community matters and why I'd argue that greater transparency oftentimes enhances security and not degrades it. Transporting Zelensky in a US military plane broadcasting its flight information removes ambiguity about the purpose of the flight.
Me: Can you tell me in as much detail as possible about the test you just completed?
DoD public affairs: We worked together with our industry partners toward shared objectives, successfully executing a preplanned test plan. Let me know if you have any further questions 😌
NEW FROM ME: I investigated the origins of 15 video stills taken from inside homes by robot vacuums and shared to social media—some featuring humans in VERY candid positions, faces clearly visible—and wrote abt the supply chain of data used to train AI.
