There is a contest now for understanding of our reality and I thank the POTUS for his interest in this topic, Dr. Larry Arnn. They have a panelist who wrote, Debunking Howard Zinn. She is talking now. She calls it fake history.

I don't normally believe people are completely lost, but I am changing my mind.

"One of the functions of history is to help with our shared memory," said Dr. Bill McClay and it's amazing that people can use these words and still want to blot out large portions of history. He wants a history that is "truthful and inspiring."

Mr. Ted Rebarber is up next, his bio included leading a charter school organization. He is speaking from the immigrant perspective and saying that immigrants do not take this country for granted.
Show this thread -
Rebarbar got an NEH grant and is developing a curriculum. He is upset that on the AP text the word "property" is negatively associated w/ being unable to vote. If Ss only know negative "What does this suggest to students about needing to respect the private property of others?"

Robert Jackson, CEO of Great Hearts Charter school network. They have 32 schools. He is talking about the Ss learning the personal integrity of George Washington by reading his final address. Or something awful.
