I'm continously surprised at how many programmers don't know or don't do breakpoint debugging. It's one of the best tools at your disposal. Use it.

Sure; but in my experience many web shops don't bother which I think explains why many dev's who started on that route don't think about it as a tool so much, or may not even know about it.
That's a correct observation I think. I started my journey with C++ in Visual Studio and the debugger has always been my friend. I guess a lot of devs that start with JS or other high-level languages probably don't get told about it enough?

At first reading this I was horrified. But it’s great perspective on what can be normalised and how much productivity is available for free. OTOH, traditional native mobile has a dreadful UI build loop, and react native, Flutter etc are a revelation in that world.

Actually was thinking about dev's who mostly work on NodeJS, PHP, Python, etc - that's when setup issue applies. If mainly doing client side JS there is a good breakpoint debugger in the browser (just deliver non-minimised JS) so maybe those ppl have a different perspective?
