What's the easiest way to setup a blog nowadays? I'm really not interested in tinkering - I want something I can setup in less than a day and that will format code nicely by default.

WordPress is super easy! And nice plugins for code formatting. Static site generators are good too, Jekyll, Hugo, Pelican etc. depending on your language of choice.
Honestly, if I can avoid writing code at all I rather do that. The managed Ghost plan looks good, so I might give it a try. They also have a self hosted solution
