Main one: this app will only make a few simple API calls to a third party API (Google Photos). It just feels too much to force Rx onto this.

Working on a small new Android app right now. I originally opted in to include RxJava but just now decided to remove it and switch to basic Retrofit + LiveData. Reasons why below

Secondary reason: I've been reliant Rx for too long - I'd like to go back and start with something simpler first and explore other options as I feel RxJava has just become my hammer for every nail.
