I just installed #android10 and an giving gesture nav a shot. I like the idea of having more screen real estate available but I doubt it'll be intuitive enough to use without getting frustrated. We shall see

In theory, gaining screen real estate sounds like a noble mission. In reality, what little you actually gain is negligible for me, given the amount I already have. And the tiny gain isn't worth the massive slowdown in efficiency in having to re-learn 10 years of muscle memory.

OnePlus gestures give you good control and full screen at the same time - by far the best implementation I've seen.
