I did this: https://github.com/Zhuinden/sync-timer-app/blob/de90768f118c8384b034bd4723af38c6f714cf58/app/src/main/java/com/zhuinden/synctimer/utils/GroupieUtils.kt#L20-L27 … to make the item become a LayoutContainer.
Yeah that's basically what the recommendation is. Only difference is your implementation doesn't provide an overload for passing an id which is fine if you don't need it
