So far, Senator Bill Cassidy has doubled down on #paidleave only for new parents. It's true that paid leave for new babies is critical -- but, if there's anything COVID has shown us, we are far behind the curve in protecting workers' and public health and families' finances.
Senator Hassan has expressed the need for comprehensive #paidleaveforall and to close the gaps in the Families First emergency #paidleave and #paidsickdays provisions to ensure all are covered. Right now, up to 106 million workers are left out.

Joni Ernst's interest in paid leave for new parents, but - it's completely unbelievable that we'd have workers delay retirement and take a benefit cut in order to have paid leave at a child's birth. The Ernst paid leave idea would especially hurt Black & Latinx workers, women and low-wage workers. Wrong path. Shafted with low wages, few workplace protections, no paid leave and retirement.
