unfortunately our perception of risk and viability of control has become so deranged from covid, that
totalitarianism can stare us right in the face, and as usual we will use our priors, ideology, and emotion to justify it "just this once to make bad thing stop"

Tyranny:
Concentration of power, power without accountability, censorship, media as a propaganda mouthpiece and coercion.
Do these conditions exist?

The philosopher shines thru :). Long arc of history has tended towards democracy which gives me hope. As does Camus’ experience of Pandemic past. Inability to sort misinformation is new, amplified since Camus. Media related damage to our collective psyche has been enormous.

Just backed up my argument to a friend...end of human species. Could have a virus that's more virulent & transmissible than C19. A % of the population will resist control...like now. Some highly ed buy in. Lose 1% of population > to distinction. Not so bad for Earth overall.

The medical school that accepted you, should take a hard look at its admission criteria. Somehow, they let a person who would minimize the death of 700k humans become a doctor. And now even more debasing : “look at the death of democracy” shiny object here”…..
