If you want more proof we waste medical school years teaching low value topics (krebs cycle) while failing to teach high value topics (evidence appraisal) then just note how many docs self prescribed hydroxychlorquine and horded it.

One of the most revealing things about someone is how they feel about hydroxychloroquine

Also... ethics? I mean, my evidence appraisal is not the world’s most sophisticated, but I feel like it would be misfeasance to wastefully divert a necessary supply from people who genuinely need it. (Though my ethics is also a bit rusty, so that may not be the right term...)

Agree we need more teaching on how to critical appraise the medical lit. I wouldn't take hydroxychloroquine for #COVID19 unless part of a well designed RCT. What do my nerdy friends think? @HeatherM211 @srrezaie @EMSwami @SAEMEBM @KirstyChallen @jonathanstea @CaulfieldTimpic.twitter.com/6Kvsjud8hb

Evidence appraisal shouldn’t need to be taught in medical school it should start in elementary and high school, we’d solve so many of the current issues
