In 2001, when Congress was asked to help 9/11 first responders, both Paul Ryan & Kevin McCarthy, then members of the Republican minority, voted No. So did Rep. Mike Pence, now the Vice President. In the Senate, Mitch McConnell voted to block action on the bill. #NeverForget911

Sorry I meant 2010. This was the Zadroga Act to provide health care/ compensation to 9/11 first responders. Named for an NYPD officer who died from respiratory disease caused by breathing dust at the attack site.
