In conclusion, think carefully through _why_ you're adding each detail to your teams, and your teams will be better for it. Yeah! That's all I have to say today. Let us know what you think or if you have questions! Aaron T.

The enemy of intention is "slapping on"-- adding a Pokemon without thinking it through. Not to say that slapping on never works- it comes from intuition, after all. But adding Incineroar to your team because "idk it's good" and because you need something from it are different.

As you learn and grow, you'll develop your intuitions and have a keener idea of what will work impactfully. But the idea -> create team -> test -> reiterate team pipeline is an important part of the process for every player.

After a practice session I could ask-- - How often do I get Trick Room up? - When I get Trick Room up, am I winning? Why or why not? - What's good about my original intent, and what are the flaws? - Can I improve anything, or do I need a new idea?

Other Pokemon should arise as candidates for my team pretty naturally here! After I build my team I can hit the ladder and evaluate my ideas. Notice that having intention helps a lot with team preview/game plans. You know your goals, and you can think through how to reach them.

- What support is needed to make Trick Room happen? Do I need redirection, Fake Out, another strong Trick Room attacker? - What if I added functionality to my team by adding Pokemon that don't need Trick Room? Then I could function both in and out of Trick Room as necessary.

As an example, let's say I build a team, and my goal is to make use of Calyrex-Ice in Trick Room. That's the intention of my team. Knowing your goals helps you build the rest of your team. - How am I going to get Trick Room up? - Is Calyrex-Ice going to set for itself?

When you add something to a team, you do that for a reason, no matter who you are or how experienced you are. At the battling stage, you'll use your original intent to evaluate how well each Pokemon performs. Did you execute your strategy? If you did, how well did it go?

Hey all! Aaron T. here. It was awesome to launch yesterday, and we're super grateful for everyone's feedback so far. Updates to the site itself will probably be infrequent-- we're most likely not going to do weekly updates, for example. If we add anything, we'll tweet about it!
