Pitching for greater spending on research and development by the government, Nobel Prize-winning scientist Venkatraman Ramakrishnan has said India's goal should not be to get a Nobel but create a "culture for first-rate science" where people tackle important problems.

This one is different from previous solar probes as it intends to study the poles of the sun....unlike parker solar probe...its orbit around the sun will not be in the plane of sun and earth...instead it will use the gravity of earh and venus to get into polar orbit of sun.

Not a bad place to have India's first space tech conclave! Great to catch up with the still nascent, still small but very tight-knit space community in the country! The Indian space industry is primed for take off. The next few years are going to be very exciting! 🚀

The department of Space mostly has got ₹13479 crore for 2020-21 That's compared to the 12,473 crore promised of last year. Although last year the budget was revised to ₹13,139 crore. So i expect this will be increased even more.

Without the actions and sacrifices of those that came before us, humankind would never have set eyes on our Earth from above. The fallen heroes of Apollo 1, Challenger, and Columbia are present in all that we do.
