If anything, Banks should only ask for a +5% return of overdrafts, let pe OP ple pay what they owe and subsidize the trouble at a 5% rate so everyone is happy.

It’s crazy! They should at least have a ceiling on the fee, so that it is never larger than the overdraft itself. Buy a cup of coffe without realizing you’re overdrawn, and get $38 in a fee? Crazy!
