UBI is a foundation for the house. It doesn’t fix all the problems. It makes them possible to fix.

Thank you. The unemployment system is a twisted mess, and instead of relying on bad employers to submit bottom of the barrel jobs, we could supply the temp jobs needed to go through the transition. Coupled with UBI workers would be empowered and confident to make good decisions

FJG just seems like a terrible idea to me. Jobs programs, yes Still donated to you to help you help Andrew

Can we just Federal Job, and UBI. Federal creates jobs if it needs to, but please don't use it as a promise to improve life

UBI makes a FJG acceptable to me because it removes the existential threat of poverty from those who cannot or will not work for the government.
-
UBI or no UBI, FJG lacks logical consistency. It would either create necessary or unnecessary jobs. But if the jobs will be necessary, then there's no need for a FJG. You could contract out the work, like always. FGJ is needed only for unnecessary jobs.

I hope gov will influence other new industries to create jobs like fighting climate change. But putting my income on gov. Funded jobs can't be trusted. If there's a another Gov. Shutdown, history will repeat like in earlier this year. I hope not, but can't predict

The FJG can quickly turn scary when you realize that, sooner or later, the Republicans will take control again. Do we want to have a large portion of the country relying on Trump 2.0 to tell them where to work? Thousands could realistically be given a job patrolling the border.
-
And for those without education or other relevant skills to get a job elsewhere, they'll be forced out of necessity to do whatever they're told to do. It could turn dystopian really fast. Better to have a large jobs program that lasts as long as there's work to be done.
