I’m a nurse practitioner in primary care. Many of my patients’ insurance plans do not cover/prefer these tv-advertised fancy namebrand drugs. It’s mind boggling how much money is wasted on these ads when it could be used to make drugs more affordable. I usually prescribe generics

Something to point out is that a lot of our drugs on the market are subsidized by the public. These RX companies can afford the R&D themselves but they just refuse to afford it to increase profits. And sadly enough we don’t reap the benefits of an investor dividend.
