I’m glad there’s an educator on stage. As a former special ed teacher, my kids in the classroom to this day mean everything to me and I want them to know I want them to have a future just like mine. I’m happy to know she knows the heavy weight of student loans too.

Agreed. As the son of an educator, it would've been nice to hear a "plan" as to how she would make teachers' lives better in this country, not just state that she did the job for a year. Sadly, the website doesn't have much on that: https://elizabethwarren.com/plans

Teachers need a union. Not an “association”, a UNION. Education is not daycare. Firefighters have a union. Cops have a union. In the state of MD, it’s illegal for teachers to formally unionize and strike. That’s unacceptable.

Strongly agreed. There are many "associations" and "federations" here in GA, but they can't fight for teachers across the board. I don't know that unionization is actually illegal here, but the affluent counties rarely ever provide any support, so movements constantly settle.

The unions should also be able to call out out waste when it happens. In Charles County, the BOE voted to give the superintendent LIFETIME benefits. In PG, the school CEOs make 6-7 figure comp packages while kids are going hungry because they have lunch debt.

Sounds familiar. Students hungry, teachers struggling, administrators comfortable: https://flagpole.com/news/in-the-loop/new-ccsd-superintendent-demond-means-will-make-209-000-a-year … You'd have my vote if I were in MD.

https://secure.actblue.com/donate/briana-urbina … I may not have your vote but can I get your help to keep this fight going?
#teamurbina rejects ALL corporate PACs and industry lobbyists from donating and we’re DCCC blacklisted. I’m here to focus on people and not dark money.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
Its not much, but I did what could. Good luck!

Every penny donated is a penny Steny Hoyer wouldn’t earn because of his lack of leadership. Your help means everything to me
