.@jaketapper I'm quite disappointed in your pointed questioning on #medicareforall from the #cnndebates. MFA eliminates the profiteering of care, levels out negotiated costs so everyone is charged the same, and solves the problem of inelastic demand in the market.

On average the per capita cost for healthcare is $10k/yr in the US. Under MFA, with negotiated prices and regulations on markups and big pharma, those costs will drop significantly.

MFA eliminates the need for ads, lobbyists, shareholder rewards, CEO comp packages, artificial stimulation w/ buybacks, and a profit margin. The DHHS has an operating cost proven to be lower than private insurance because of the listed things not being necessary.

MFA will raise payroll taxes, yes. But because we're eliminating the profit margin and cutting down on operating costs, Americans SAVE money because their premiums are now bundled in their taxes, with hardly any out of pocket expenses for copays and unaffordable deductibles.
