At this point, it really seems like needs an adopt-a-station program since the agency’s board doesn’t take cleaning facilities seriously.

Platform trash bins would help, but reasons…

Sorry we didn't see this earlier. Where were these taken? The pylon next to the spill indicates that one was flagged for mopup. Cleaning crews sweep through DSTT stations three times daily and extras are available for urgent spot cleaning.

Appreciate the response, but any spill of substance is urgent. The bottomline is that agency protocols for cleaning are abysmal and insufficient, and the agency chooses to encourage rubbish on platforms by not having collection bins on them.

The blue station walls at Beacon Hill are now mostly grey. Sound transit has. Never cleaned them in the 14 years the station has been open. SB platform is especially bad. Most of the lights in the artwork no longer work either.

What would happens If peoples showed up and started cleaning? Assuming no one gets on the tracks?
They actually do pretty good compared to a lot of other cities in this country. Yeah it can be a bit better but they aren't bad
All of the stations are filthy and seem to have been neglected to the point of needing a top-down deep clean. The random clutter of trash is just the tip of the iceberg.

An adopt-a-station program would be fun, I'd happily adopt Roosevelt station. Volunteers could receive transit passes or something even. And provide information during closures. On the other hand, ST has the money to have real paid staff do this work.
