We ran some numbers. Today’s batch had 7,117 more votes. 62.27% of the vote was against the recall. That’s quite a shift from yesterday’s 46.9% against so the leftward shift happened.

CM Sawant is trailing by only 246 votes. King County Elections says that there are about 1,200 more votes to be counted, most of which should be accomplished tomorrow. The county also says that there’s more than 600 potentially curable votes.

If the trends hold or even improve tomorrow, CM Sawant has a very good shot at surviving the recall. But ballot chasing is probably going to be key.

Some more math... 1,378 more votes were counted today. The swing was even more leftward with 67.34% of votes supporting CM Sawant with no recall.
