Washington's state rail plan sets fairly abysmal goals for intercity passenger rail service levels. On the high end, Portland-Seattle would only have 13 daily roundtrips while Seattle-Vancouver (four daily) and Portland-Eugene (six daily) lag.

With high-speed rail, the state has looked at higher frequencies across the whole Cascadia HSR corridor at around 21 daily roundtrips. The state rail plan isn’t very serious and continues long-standing feet dragging by WSDOT. wsdot.wa.gov/sites/default/
