Seattle Port Commissioner Fred Fellerman said repairing the West Seattle Bridge is essential to Terminal 5, where the Port is investing half a billion in upgrading. Said they need to focus on lowering emissions and passing a clean fuel standard.

Those types of investments would seem to be the ones the governor wants if “reducing greenhouse gas emissions through transportation investments” is a serious priority, not new car infrastructure like wider I-5 Columbia and US-2 Trestle bridges.

The COVID pandemic has also had a huge impact on Metro. It’s projected that the pandemic will result in a $2 billion dollar revenue gap over 10 years.  The impacts have required reductions in planned bus service expansion and scaling back needed capital investments.
