Under the shrinking amendments, the biggest loser is West Seattle Junction at -37 affordable homes. Junction is slated to get its own multi-billion-dollar light rail line in 2030 and is asking for a $700MM tunnel for mostly aesthetic reasons. #ST3 #HALAyes

To embrace regional rapid transit, we need to embrace density and affordability programs. Otherwise, the benefits of our shiny new trains won't be widely shared, and the wealthy will horde access. Let's share! Look how the amendments eat away at urban villages. #ST3 #HALAyes

Trying to evade shared responsibility for affordability crisis is a bad look. Memo suggest 95 fewer MHA homes (~1300 market units) would get built in shrunken Urban Villages, other UVs (led by Eastlake) would pick up some slack to build 39 more MHA homes (~500 market). #HALAyes

56 MHA homes might sound like much, but that's just in one decade. We need to set Seattle on a more equitable course ASAP. Inclusionary zoning will pay dividends over generations so non-millionaires can afford to live in Seattle. Don't go small! #HALAyes
