Very sad to hear today of the death of sculptor . He was best known for his concrete murals, many of which are now listed, and whose preservation the C20 Society is honoured to have been able to campaign for. He was a friend of the Society, and an amazing man.

Speaking of Norwegian road tunnels, the Lærdal Tunnel—the world’s longest—includes artificial caves lit to invoke sunrise, to help counteract driver fatigue. Inspired by research into “driver behavior in long road tunnels.” Human neurology, underground.

I wrote a big celebratory piece on artist and "visual futurist" Syd Mead, his work and legacy, and how he influenced games, both directly and indirectly. "From Aliens to Cyberpunk via the Mass Effect arc."
