So yes apparently on here you can't talk about hate speech *you have experienced yourself* because it's an opportunity for, say, people who don't like "the q slur" to mass report LGBT+ people talking about their experiences being called other slurs.

Honestly I shouldn't be surprised, we know people mass report stuff on here as a silencing tactic. I really don't like being silenced. So now I'm going to talk about my first memories of being called certain slurs for LGBT+ people Apparently I just can't use the actual words

[Homomisia] The first time I was called the 3 letter slur that starts with F, I was 11. I didn't suspect I was gay, or really even have a concept that LGBT+ people exist I was wearing a sweater my gran knit for me, and a classmate said it made me look like a F__.

[Homomisia] This was in theater class (the wrong place to pick on LGBT+ folks). My teacher intervened and went on a long diatribe about the origins of the word as related to witch burnings and made him apologize But I still didn't know what the word *meant*

[Homomisia] I never wore that sweater again.

[Homomisia] The first time I was called the 4 letter word that starts with D, I was 12. It was summer camp, aka bullying hell One of the campers found a rock that looked like a butt, and frequently made derogatory comments about gay men and anal sex

[Homomisia] I was 12 and AFAB. I didn't shave my legs or armpits. This + ubiquitous homomisia meant that I got called a d___. It mostly was in whispers behind my back, but I knew it was happening.

[Homomisia] I think the real reason I got called that word was different. The camp had a rule that dunking someone in the pool was okay if you followed certain safety rules and allowed the dunking to be mutual. The guys dunked the girls, but the girls never dunked back

[Homomisia] It was a particularly gross form of flirting, the girls would just giggle It pissed me tf off, so I made a point of dunking the main perpetrators. They didn't like being, idk, emasculated So they called me that word

[Homomisia] I stood up to them, but also once I got home from camp I started shaving and presented myself as more feminine as a protective mask against bullying. Fun times!

[Homomisia] I don't even know when the first time was that I heard "that's so [word for homosexual men]". It was graffitied on my desk in math class. I saw it every day. I do remember the first time I asked someone not to use that phrase
Prikaži ovu nit -
[Homomisia] It was summer camp, but not the same one. This was a state wide nerd camp, and the first time I actually got to hang out with a group of out LGBT+ people. Which is maybe why, when a classmate kept saying "that's so g__", I had the courage to ask him to stop
Prikaži ovu nit -
[Homomisia] Ironically, his reasons why it's actually fine to say that phrase are recycled on here daily whenever you call out harmful language "I didn't mean actual LGBT+ ppl" "Don't be so sensitive" "Everyone says it" "It's a figure of speech" "What are you, the word police?"

[Homomisia] There's other times these words have been used against me, like the time my theyfriend and I were on our first date and someone near us yelled that 3 letter slur starting with F, and we both froze and tried to figure out if the speaker was talking about us.

I will not be silenced. I'm queer and proud. If it bothers you, I won't use that word to refer to you. But please don't try to hand my identity back to the people who yell slurs.
