Jesus Christ yes. I mean mutilating male infants who can’t consent is a moral outrage as well, but doesn’t cause a fraction of the lifelong psychological and physical trauma of FGM.

Like comparing a haircut to a scalping. No one circumcises males to completely remove their sensation, as a brutal method to control behavior. Circumcision lowers risk of penile cancer. There are no positive outcomes of FGM. Just control.

I'm more interested in stopping people from equating FGM with male circumcision. It's near and dear to me because I've had 7 procedures, most of which were disastrous and have caused 32 years of non-stop pain, 8 more years than the 24 I enjoyed without this horror in my life.

why not recognize that circumcision is also harmful? there is an 11.5% chance of serious complications according to new research. and the research also says a lot of these boys needed more surgery after age two. http://spuonline.org/abstracts/2018/P21.cgi …pic.twitter.com/gp2AulfxKB
