Haha, that is one thing I have always been hung up on... I would think Seth and the Skinny Jonah would be considered attractive. I have always been bad at guessing who women find attractive. As for women leads, no. "Unconventionally pretty" girls ...
Okay, but there’s a difference between being conventionally attractive and unconventionally attractive. They are attractive, because average people are decent looking. But women have none of those average people
I don't disagree, but i do wonder if... makeup and costume design/ being able to afford quality clothing has anything to do with that. The image of women being camer-ready or out on the town is different than just an average woman. Does that make sense?
I mean, yeah, but that’s also because they’re conventionally attractive and can easily find clothes that were designed just for them. Like most of the clothing industry is targeted towards thin women.
That is a valid point. I was going to write something, but as I was writing it, I came to the realization that most female characters are probably perceived as being appealing to men. Which is not something I overlooked completely, I just overlooked a crucial angle
And male characters are also usually made for men. Female characters designed for women viewers are still very often made for men too.
I want to see both. I hope more women make more productions. I want to see something that appeals to both men and women. Some of my favorite content creators are women. I still would like more of what we already get. I prefer more opposed to consolidation.
