Basically if you want to do any narrative design in games, I can't suggest being a Dungeon Master enough. It's that + improv.

@ZoeQuinnzel@aeazel Best thing I learned there was to have a toolbox of openended story and system pieces. Hugely useful even outside RP. -
@danrodgers@ZoeQuinnzel I also learned to have a DM screen, roll the dice, and make the facial expressions needed based on results I wanted -
@aeazel@zoequinnzel This is the best goddamn advice you can give. Emoting is way easier than trying to have a poker face. -
@danrodgers@aeazel Sometimes I just roll dice to fuck with people, not for any specific purpose. -
@ZoeQuinnzel@aeazel The opposite gambit is fun sometimes too. Roll a little as humanly possible and give not a single fuck when they ask. -
@danrodgers@aeazel messing with players rules -
@ZoeQuinnzel@danrodgers Plus, I love DM screens. Father used to use them when family played, and I stared at it in awe. -
@aeazel I don't get DMs who hide rolls with their palm or an open book. So many tables to pretend to look at! /cc@ZoeQuinnzel@danrodgers
