One of the biggest gribes I have with fantasy settings is that people in a race have 1 personality ever. Dwarves are surly, elves aloof, etc

@ZoeQuinnzel though to be fair, my favourite writers do generally switch up the stereotypes or subvert them.
@benfromcanada It's still operating on the same paradigm though and it's happened so much it's cliche at this point

@ZoeQuinnzel even when they do something really different, it just ends up a new cliche. Case in point: Drizzt Do'Urden. -

@ZoeQuinnzel a good first step is removing class race & alignment restrictions. I want to play a chaotic dwarven Druid, god damn it!
