@ZoeQuinnzel That's not what's happening here at all. The ToS is legalese for keeping your button settings in their cloud.

@jakeninja Except they say they collect personal info and there's no workaround -
@ZoeQuinnzel "Personal info" = Your settings. The "workaround" is using the mouse like a normal plug-and-play mouse. It doesn't shut down. -
@jakeninja "personally identifying information" doesn't sound like settings. And that would eliminate the functionality people pay $80 for

@ZoeQuinnzel +1 for my generic MSFT optical usb? -
@Worthless_Bums yeah I'd never pay 80 bucks for a mouse, but now I'll never buy anything else from them either

@ZoeQuinnzel Why the hell would a mouse need DRM? Are you gonna photocopy it with a 3D printer? O_o -
@neilogd@ZoeQuinnzel it’s more about forcing you to register with an email address before you can use the mouse, then selling your email. -
@jfaulken@zoequinnzel They won't be getting my money then. -
@neilogd@ZoeQuinnzel it’s kinda sad, ya know? the orochi is the only high quality bluetooth gaming mouse there is. oh well. -
-
@ZoeQuinnzel@neilogd and it's funny, i kind of like the idea of the cloud profile but come on guys, opt-in isn't a new idea.
