should still be alive today. She knew her rights. She was no threat. Cell-phone video of her violent arrest has recently surfaced & tells us the real story. Now, we're calling on DA Mathis to re-open her case & criminally charge Brian Encinia.

Reminder: Alabama legislators are set to vote on a total abortion ban on Tuesday. This is a dangerous and harmful policy — what was considered too extreme for state politicians just a few years ago is now passing and becoming law in the same states.

I'll keep adding to this thread later, but the point is - women (mostly women of color, immigrant & low-income women) are already being punished using anti-choice laws. And this is while abortion is LEGAL. Imagine what would happen if Roe were overturned.

It's fascinating to see people argue that women won't really be punished if abortion is illegal. Here are some things that have *already* happened to women despite Roe:

Not something Ive talked about a ton but like 1/4 people who become pregnant, I miscarried. I was racked with guilt wondering if I "did something" to "cause" it. If I didn't get enough rest or was too stressed. Under Georgia's new abortion law I could be facing jail time
