Classic @TeamYouTube. You wrongly flag a video automatically as inappropriate, and by the time the flag is removed after manual review, the video has peaked in views and lost most of its revenue anyway, and you get away with a "whoops" while offering no recompense for your error.

Can't you just leave videos as unlisted until you figure out if its flagged or not and dispute before making it public? Or somethin?

That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea, assuming it works like that of course. I do eventually want to try to get something going with my channel, but it's the stories such as this that make me hold off.

It is, but no one can say how long until YU clears the video and you can't really operate like that when you deal with news coverage.

People like Yong mostly for his general take on things and a majority of the time will happily watch a video of him talking about news they've already heard a bunch of times. I think he could get away with keeping videos on hold for a while to make sure.
