Civil Legal Aid Regulations (2012) state that all parties should be informed of public money is being used. You’ll find this under Part 4 Regulation 38(1)(b).

In the absence of domestic violence, legal aid should not be awarded. This doesn’t stop third sector organisations writing letters to support applications.

Contact your ex partner’s solicitor and tell them that under the regulations listed above, they have a legal responsibility to provide you with the Notice of Issue Certificate (which will include the legal aid certificate number).

You can then contact the Legal Aid Authority and make a challenge against the award of Legal Aid. They will investigate your challenge, and may revoke award of Legal Aid.

Do not be bullied by solicitors and barristers.... Legal Aid facilitiates the legal harassment of a parent who is trying to get access to their children. This punishes the child. Inform the court if the other party keeps changing solicitors, this is a sign of legal aid fraud

Scottish law is different. More or less told that if she ticks the right boxes (despite the heavy evidence of proof) nothing they can do !!
