Ubisoft's gamer survey first asks if you're female, and terminates if you say "yes" http://boingboing.net/2016/07/05/ubisofts-gamer-survey-first.html …pic.twitter.com/ltS93JXT7s

I'm not sure how believable "error" is. That's around half the human race.
It was one option on one question on one survey. That's extremely easy to mess up. Chill the fuck out.
. @LiteralSalt @Ubisoft @doctorow no quality control or proofing. Also, what makes you think I'm not chill? chill & critical.
It's Ubisoft. You really expect them to get things right? And it isn't chill to assume it wasn't an error.
I didn't assume it wasn't. I was dubious that it might have been.
But why? Do you think them being sexist is more likely than an error in a survey?
I do think it's more likely they were sexist than made an error. Radio Buttons are not hard.
Were their multiple spelling mistakes and looping questions bug also sexist?
. @Ubisoft seems like a big "error". Every time I start to think you care about female gamers, you do something like this.
Nope, just a consumer noting how a company's actions might be perceived by the market.
- any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. Remember that the next time you have to apologise.
Hi! Market Research guy here. "Available to everyone" doesn't mean you aren't going to chuck responses in tab. So...
can you tell us if women's responses will be included after being collected?
thats exactly what i was thinking tbh
yeah. no matter what they say now, the survey isn't trustworthy. It never was, but they lost the goodwill they had.
the difference is, before we shouldn't've trusted it; now THEY can't trust it.
.@Ubisoft Now add an option for "other gender" or something. I still can't complete it because there's no option for me in the first place.
If only someone could have thought of a woman taking the survey, and tested for that. Apparently that never came up tho
