The sun’s core is so hot that a piece of it the size of a pinhead would give off enough heat to kill a person 160 kilometres away.

If the sun was the size of a WHITE BLOOD CELL, the Milky Way would be the size of the continental United States. Basically, it’s enough to heat us, but even with all the stars, although is is hot near them, it diffuses to much in such a large area.

But the SPACE surrounding Earth, like Immediately outside of the Earth’s atmosphere, is cold. Freezing, in fact. Why? If the sun is so hot, shouldn’t the SPACE surrounding earth be just as warm? I’m asking for my friends @PFTCommenter , @BarstoolBigCat & @he

It’s probably because Earth’s atmosphere traps the heat

So it traps cold air and warms it? Sounds reasonable.

Space is a vacuum. The energy from the sun cant heat nothingness..the earth is an object that can absorb the energy and become heated
