Got scammed recently in Buenos Aires by an Uber driver who never picked me up, but suddenly my ride was “in progress,” so this might fix that problem. Also how do I stop daily unsolicited Argentine Uber Eats text messages?

Don’t be fooled. This feature really has nothing to do with safety. It is based on a proximity alert and is intended to keep drivers from starting the trip early to see the Destiination before hand.

Oh, great, a unique number to confirm I'm in the right car. If only one of those was already posted on the front and back bumper of every car, so that I could confirm before getting into whatever random car is in the vicinity.

IMO, should be other way around: driver should share first. IDK. Weird, but I'd be more comfortable that way, and I can't explain why.
