Its official! Postdocs have ratified our contract by a vote of 587 - 17!!! That's 68% of all UW postdocs voting YES. This is a huge victory for all UW Postdocs and for the fight to win fair working conditions for academic employees across the country.

We need a strong, survivor centered grievance procedure, access to secondary mentorship, and interim measures when we do report.

But <10% reported through official channels. Why? People who faced discrimination had less confidence that the university took these issues seriously.

Next, UW postdoc Pam is reporting on the results of the postdoc equity survey that a majority of our workforce participated in earlier this year. 63% of women and gender non-binary postdocs reported facing harassment and discrimination.
