There's a really simple three-step solution for this: 1) Fire the professor. 2) Make a public apology. 3) Give the student full credit for the class.

I can't see option 3 or compensation being valid options (Compensation being suggested by others). Especially if I catch wind of such "Rewards"..

Y’all better fire her! With all these white ppl calling the police on black ppl for no reason this is UNACCEPTABLE. Letting her continue to be an “educator” would be a disgrace to your university, image, and most importantly your STUDENTS. Pls don’t drop the ball on this one..

What is the University's policy for acceptable student behavior in class? Is there one? Maybe students should treat profs with respect and act accordingly.

Acceptable student behavior? These are adults in college. Unless she was committing a crime no cops should have been called. The professor should be treating her students with respect as well.

Respect should always be mutual, given and taken.

She should have emailed if she wasn’t going to be in for her scheduled times/office hours but she doesn’t seem very professional. I’d bet on some free time Wednesday
