There are 6 immediate demands as we face the prospect of returning to in person learning after Labor Day.

1. Every teacher, school employee, and student must have the option to teach or learn from home until they feel safe enough to return to the school building.

2. Classrooms must be designed to provide 6 feet of space on all sides between each person, rather than permitting up to 25 people per static group.

3. Hybrid learning models must include the time and resources necessary to ensure that students, whether learning in person or virtually, have high quality interactive instruction.

4. The infrastructure for free, reliable, rapid COVID-19 testing and contact tracing must be in place on every school campus prior to any students returning for in-person instruction.
