Many teachers, paraprofessionals and other school staff are being required to be physically in person at their schools right now. They could easily work from home reducing the risk to them and to the people who may need to be physically present in buildings.

Yesterday @nolasupt defended having teachers at Coghill physically present in school buildings for professional development this week along with encouraging Charter school leaders to set the same expectations.

@NSNO_NOLA reports that in the 16-17 school year over half of all teachers in New Orleans were Black. What is the racial make up of the teachers and school staff being required to be physically present in buildings when they could do their work remotely? #edchat #AreWeSafeorNah

@EthanCAshley is there racial equity in requiring teachers and staff who could work remotely to work inside of school buildings raising the risk of infection for all who are in those buildings- ie custodians, administrators, etc? #WeKeepUsSafe
